Shaun Williamson
Actor, Singer, Cabaret Artiste, After
Dinner Speaker, Awards Presentations
As the event organisers, I wanted to thank you for the arrangements
for Shaun Williamson and The John Oliver Band to provide the entertainment
for the Conference Dinner at the 2008 Government Finance Profession’s
Annual Qualified Accountants’ Conference at the Hilton Brighton Metropole
Hotel (November 2007).
Shaun clearly demonstrated his ability to empathise with his audience throughout
his after-dinner routine. In addition to making people laugh, Shaun also included
some finance/accounting terminology to show he had thoroughly researched his
audience – which they warmly appreciated.
The John Oliver Band excelled at getting most diners onto the dance floor
on completion of the Awards Ceremony. Shaun joined them in a series of numbers
and enhanced his reputation as an all-round entertainer with his vocals and
energy. It was hard to see how anyone could avoid tapping his or her feet,
singing along or getting up and dancing the night away. I used to book live
bands for charity events years ago, but I have never before experience such
professionalism and variety as provided by The John Oliver Band that evening.

The benefits in hiring a professional host are enormous. Make
that host a famous TV face, and the value soars. Shaun Williamson was an
inspired choice. It is clear that we could not have hoped for a more impassioned,
committed, diligent, energetic professional to work with. Our man had to cope
with pace, complexity, gear changes, live and open talkback and a (non-professional)
co-host with a self-confessed tendency to drift off script. Shaun did all this
and more, helping to transform a difficult event into a night to remember.
He took direction through the entire proceedings – a skill few master.
With that all-important common touch, making him a hit the minute he landed
in the room, his deftness and flexibility, and generosity of spirit (few presenters
would be so accommodating with their non-pro co-host), he was a brilliant booking.
And, at that price, a bargain, too.
This kind of show needs this kind of presenter. If you want him next year,
I wouldn't hang around.

I’m so sorry for taking so long to write to thank you for
your wonderful ‘after dinner’ speech at our Senior Management
Conference in Oxford on 1 November.
It was fantastic and very, very enjoyable. I was telling the ‘severely
hampered’ joke to a friend and his wife in Littlebourne only last night.
Your ‘after dinner’ speech rounded off a very intense and exhausting
conference perfectly and gave all of our delegates a fantastic memory of a
great and fun evening. Many, many thanks again.

We need to find someone for next years event. The part we feel
that will be hard to follow is the amount of value we had out of Shaun! We
will need someone to do a similar job to Shaun, as in we want someone to run
the evening, not just turn up and do an act.
I suppose we could always get Shaun to turn up in prosthetics!
If you have any ideas that may help us raise another £20K+ (This years
figure likely to be around £23K) then please let me know.

I just wanted to pass on my heartfelt thanks to Shaun on behalf
of the L&Q Group for his performance last night at our first ever Residents
Awards. From the minute he arrived he was full of positive energy and our
residents absolutely adored him. I think that too often at events such as
these the start guest can make only a fleeting appearance, show a thin interest
in what's happening, before leaving directly after the photo shoot, but Shaun
threw himself right into it from the off and was a pleasure to work with
throughout.
We are getting some fantastic feedback from both our staff and more importantly
from our residents about the whole evening so it looks like we will definitely
be doing it again next year. I will keep Shaun at the top of our list for that
and perhaps even some other events we plan over the year.
Thanks once again, we will send on copies of the residents magazine we produce
when it is printed which will feature Shaun and the awards. I also feel that
given the conversations flying around here this morning that Shaun definitely
has himself a new fan club within L&Q.

Last night was BRILLIANT! every detail flowed excellently
but most of all Shaun was FANTASTIC! the room was buzzing and he was so popular
with all age groups. The room was up dancing from the first song. We raised
in excess of £4k and we still haven't finished totting it all up. Shaun
is such a lovely guy and so generously brought along some personal things for
auction which made huge money!!
I fulfilled my obligation and escorted him away on time as people just wouldn't
let him leave, they couldn't get enough.
Please pass on our thanks again for a superb evening to Shaun and I couldn't
recommend him enough. I hope we looked after him well, although I did feel
for him having to drive to Oxford.
I will of course pass on the audience comments when I see them all next week.
Thanks again.

The Caravan Club invited Shaun Williamson to an event in Birmingham and it
is fair to say that he completely wowed the crowd! Shaun performed a selection
of songs and got everybody on their feet dancing and singing along. The Club
also staged a celebrity quiz and again Shaun really was the star of the show.
Shaun is a consummate professional who is a true entertainer.
We are looking forward to working with him again in the very near future.
He really is a born entertainer with amazing talents.

It was great, just going through all the emails I got yesterday and everyone
is saying what a star Shaun is.
He really was amazing, he mingled and was happy to sign autographs and
take pics all night - I think he enjoyed himself too - he stayed until
11.30pm having a drink and a joke with us.
Thanks very much for all your
help - he really was a professional through and through - we would
definitely use him again and definitely promote him to others.

Shaun Williamson was a great booking, the audience (a
real cross section) loved 'Barry's winner! and what a thoroughly nice bloke!

On behalf of all of us at Gillingham Supporters Trust
I would like to pass on thanks to Shaun for the outstanding effort he made
on our behalf on Friday. The feedback we have had so far has been excellent,
and so much of that was due to his input to the evening. We also look to have
raised a record amount for one of our functions, probably exceeding £5,000.00.
The hard work on behalf of our cause really was special. Thank you again.
